We get this question all the time and it comes down to a couple of different things. As a customer you need to ask yourself a couple of questions. What is the main goal you are looking for? If you are looking for something to add shade only to your outdoor living area than a pergola is a perfect fit. It has an open top canopy which produces shade to the ground. If you think you will want to sit outside in any weather, then a pavilion is the right choice. A pavilion is a closed top structure with a full roof covered in shingles or metal roofing.
