Western Red Cedar

We use #1 Western Red Cedar for all of our shade structures. Western red cedar is proven to be the best outdoor building material for it’s longevity to last in harsh outside elements.We order mill-direct which gives us the opportunity to make sure that we are getting the highest quality #1 western red cedar timbers in the country.

SIZES

Selecting a pergola size. Our pergolas are sized by the roof area or canopy size. For example a 10′ x 10′ pergola has a square roof with 10 foot sides. Since the roof overhangs the posts, the posts are set in by 1 foot from each corner. The post layout from edge to edge would 8′ x 8′.
